Thursday 19th October is International Credit Union Day

Thursday October 19th 2017 is International Credit Union Day which celebrates the great work that credit unions are doing around the world.

This year’s theme is ‘Dreams Thrive Here’ celebrating how credit unions can help make different professions, personal choices and career paths real. So if you have a dream that you want to turn into reality, why not contact the local credit union for Chiltern and South Bucks, M for Money Credit Union, on: 020 8756 3866 or email admin@m4mcu.org. The credit union is also a way of seeing your savings help others while still making interest.

Last year’s M for Money’s dividend to savers was 1.5%. For further information visit WWW.m4mcu.org

Today, there are 57,000 credit unions in 105 countries, providing 217 million members access to affordable financial services and offering an alternative to loan sharks and high interest money-lenders. In Ireland, more than 70% of the population belongs to a credit union. In America and Canada the figure is around 43%. Credit unions are also growing fast in the UK, Eastern Europe, and parts of South America, Africa and the Far East.
