Small Business Saturday December 3rd – support your local high street.
Small Business Saturday is a national day celebrating the contribution of small businesses to the local economy and reminding people to “Shop Local”. https://smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com/
This year we are linking Small Business Saturday with Burnham’s vision of becoming a Dementia-friendly community. Several retailers along the High Street have received training in how to support customers with dementia and welcome them to use their local shops. To celebrate Small Business Saturday there will be an exhibition of books and information on both small businesses and Dementia in Burnham Community Library as well as a drop-in session for the general public on supporting people with Dementia. Do visit the library on Saturday December 3rd between 10.00am and 1.00pm to take part and find out more. Also please make a special effort on the 3rd to use your local shops and support small businesses along the High Street. Remember that the long stay car park (Summers Road) offers the first hour free of charge and the short stay car park (Jennery Lane) is only 50p for half an hour.
