The annual Christmas shoebox appeal starts soon. Gift-filled shoeboxes destined to bring a message of love to needy children worldwide will be collected in Burnham Library. The collection dates are 1st – 18th November. A table with information and leaflets has been set up in the library.
Wrap a medium sized shoebox in festive paper, (wrap the lid separately) and fill it with gifts. You can include small toys, educational supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks etc), hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, washcloth), sweets (notchocolate) and hats, scarves or gloves. Please do not include sharp objects, war-related toys, 4 suit playing cards, realistic-looking creepy crawlies, liquids, hand-made stuffed toys or anything of a political or religious nature.
If you can’t make up an entire shoebox but would like to contribute some gifts to this worthy cause, please put them in the collecting box which will be at the library until Nov 18th. Also if you have any unwanted empty shoeboxes, you can also leave these at the library as we always need extras in our Maidenhead Processing Centre.
