THE VILLAGE FETE this year will be in Burnham Park on Saturday July 14 from 12 noon until 4pm, to raise funds for Burnham Community Association towards a new Village Minibus and to support our other charity work in the Village.
Our theme this year is to celebrate and say thank you for the Emergency Services which do so much to keep us safe and we will have the Fire Brigade, the Police, Community Services, the British Red Cross, and other services showing off what they do for the Community.
Traylen’s Funfair will provide their usual mixture of fun and thrills whilst The Lions will be providing train rides round the Park.
There will be a wide range of stalls from local charities and businesses, so come along and support them whilst having an enjoyable afternoon out,
Refreshments will be available with a beer and prosecco tent provided by Burnham Park.
A feature this year will be a Children’s Fancy Dress Competition, with a range of prizes.
This year is the 80th Anniversary of the ‘Beano’ and we will be looking for fancy dress based on the Mischief Making characters to be found in the comic, to go alongside the Summer Reading Challenge for 4 to 11-year olds, which will be running in the Library.
Supporting the Fete, we will be holding a grand prize draw with three cash prizes of £100, £75 and £25 plus many other valuable prizes such as Afternoon Tea at Cliveden, Lunch at the Palmer Arms, Shopping Vouchers for John Lewis and Sainsbury’s, a half case of wine, a chocolate hamper from Mays Chocolate House, a luxury dog bed from Hungry Pets, beauty vouchers from Body Beautiful and Halo and many other prizes, Tickets are £1 and can be bought at Burnham Library or from members of the Committee, or on the day at the BCA Tent.
Following on the health theme of the previous two weeks, we will also have demonstrations at the new table tennis tables and walking football whilst Burnham Football Club will be running a ‘Beat the Goalie’ competition.
